Update: Showzey & Facebook working

Thursday, 8th July 2010  12:00pm PDT

Some users were reporting that login via Facebook Connect and cataloging Facebook photos were not working. The error started happening at Wedensday 7th July around 1:00am PDT.

The problem was caused by Facebook: the Facebook API server started behaving a little different and that caused problem with Showzey not to be able to connect to Facebook.

The problem is fixed as of Wednesday 7th July 13:00pm PDT.

We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties using Showzey.

Showzey Facebook integration is enabled again

We have enabled Showzey Facebook integration.

Since majority of Showzey/Facebook interaction is moved to client side, Showzey now requires that user is connected via Facebook Connect in order to see Facebook photos. So you will see something like this:

Bug fixed: Tracking Gmail attachments copied to Flickr/Picasa

For certain accounts (mainly non-US Flickr Yahoo! accounts), the photos uploaded to Flickr or Picasa might not be detected by Showzey as email attachment. The photos are *uploaded* to Flickr or Picasa.

Basically, you might not see them in the email when you open email in Showzey:

We have fixed the problem and deployed the fix.

So photos transferred from Gmail to Picasa/Flickr should be linked to emails - even for yahoo.it domain.

Facebook integration temporarily disabled for new users

Unfortunately, due to unexpectedly high traffic we have temporarily disabled Facebook integration for new users (only new users - the existing Showzey users should be able to manage their Facebook photos without problems). We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are already working on improvement which will make our product super-scalable (read: hundred thousand of photos per user).

Facebook integration should be re-enabled for new users in few days.

Fixed intermittent problem with Flickr catalog

We had an intermittent bug that some user were unable to catalog all their Flickr photos (big thanks to Daniel for reporting the problem)

This is fixed now.

Intermitent slownest of the site: update

Actually, the problem we are facing is the following:

(memory leak)

Some processes end up eating ~2G of memory each - which causes slowdown of everything:

We are working on a fix. Hopefully everything will be fixed by end of day today (30th Jan 2010). tomorrow (31st Jan 2010).

RSS feed problem fixed

We had a bug that some user generated RSS feeds were pointing to our test photos.

This is fixed now - RSS feeds should be working.
